Bhimpalasi is a popular afternoon raga. The mood or personality of this raga is often described as romantic or pensive and introspective.

This presentation of Bhimpalasi is in the Agra gharana gayaki or style that employs a unique method of raga development called nom-tom alaap, sans percussive rhythm accompaniment, followed by a traditional bandish (composition) in the 16 beat cycle, teentaal.

This was performed at “Meeting Rivers”, a special concert showcasing a confluence of gharanas styles, presented by First Edition Arts, Mumbai, in December 2018.
